Guest Designer for Crafty Templates...

I was asked by Leonora of Crafty Templates to be their guest designer for February,Leo sent me a wonderful kit,which comes out monthly and i always love to buy,along with the monthly templates,which are sent as a download when you subscribe to Crafty Templates This card was made combining two of the templates for the large hen and smaller chick...

Everything in the card is from the kit,apart from the brads

I used the wing on the mother hen to make a pocket to hold the little chick with greeting and attached them together with the ribbon from the kit.

This is the purse template, all apart from the brad & the £10 note is from the kit

And finally this is the wonderful sunshine template,I just used my ink pads to shade the card and sunshine and a micron pen for the greeting...

Sunday Dotties Challenge..Luuurve..New collection from Lou.. Now available..

Wow wow wow! Louise has done it again, just when you think she couldnt think of something better, she has come up with the 'Holly and Madison' collections the images are wonderful,completely different to Dottie.
Karen has set the challenge for 'Luurve' this week over on Dotties World, so it was a great excuse to use this image For this card i used this wonderfully sophisticated image, cut out and aperture and used invisible thread to hold the hearts i punched out.

I added detail to the back,although this collection doesnt have the back detail unlike 'back to front dottie'

This is the very minimal inside of the card!

I made this screen using an image from Helping hands new cd 'Scenes to decorate' and a ws screen template.

Friends like you.....

This is another card i made to go with my challenge over on Dotties world for Mid-Week Mojo Having mastered the technique of this 3d card,i thought it shows the new Back to front images from charmed cards off perfectley!

As this folds completely flat it goes into a normal sized envelope and saves postage too....

The sentiments are from the Hot of the press goodies i won,the clear overlays,never used them before i got them in the pack,but i love them and can see them becoming a firm favourite of mine!

I used whispers water pens to add colour to dottie,i love the bright crisp green of the card so matched Dottie accordingly!..xx

Spring is nearly Here...Just a note

Its my turn to set the challenge over on Dotties World this week,dont laugh but i thought we need cheering up and thinking of all thing new and colourful in Spring,so it thought of..
Spring is nearly Here.....
I want to see shades of yellow and green,including a Charmed Cards Download...... The card i made using the a download from the New 'Back to front Dottie' Downloads,available from charmed,click on the blinkie.
I paper pieced Dotties dress and the daisies,joined the back and the front together then added to the front of the acetate square with pva,so it then goes clear when dry.
The just a note and flowers are from Hot off the press
This is the back of the card,where i have cut a matching aperture so you can see straight through the card to the front image.

On your wedding Day...

This is a large A4 card made using some of the Hot off the press papers from my newly acquired goodies,i used two sheets(i know how could i use my new papers!!)and decoupage a layer of flowers at the bottom,also using the lovely Cross from ArtyFarty,I am a big fan of Caroles templates,this is sucha simple but beautiful template.

HOT OFF THE PRESS

When i came first in the Joanna Sheen section of Cardmaker of the year competition,i also came 3rd in the hot off the press section,i have just received my box of goodies,all the way from the States,cost them $37.50 postage!
It was a lovely suprise,as had forgotten about it,there is a pillow packet of ribbons,a very thick scrapbook,brads,8x8 papers,quotes,instant card art pads,blank cards and envelopes,loads of all colour co-ordinating packs...Thankyou Hot of the press

These beautiful freesia flowers were sent to me by my dear friend Louise, she sent them to cheer me up,but made me cry anyway!
I havent been blogging much as my mum is ill with two forms of cancer this time,having survived Hodgekins lymphoma 9years ago. I am finding it very hard to cling on to what the purpose of life is, my children keep it real.
Louise is a sucha a dear friend and i have never met her, we met through the web and our love of crafting and my goodness she is an amazing talent, thankyou Lou! And thankyou to Linnie, Rita & Margo for your support,i do soo appreciate youxxx

18th Birthday-Girl about town

The challenge over on Dotties world is a recipe:-
1 Ribbon
3 buttons
A flower,Handmade( whoops i did 3)
And ofcourse a charmed Cards Download
I used the download from the new collection 'Girl about town' available at charmed Cards.
I cut the numbers after re-sizing on word and then ran through my Big shot using the Swiss dot embossing folder from cuttle bug,also available at charmed.
For the black buttons, i used black shrink plastic with a flower die in my big shot again. The lemon flowers i made using a punch and adding layers of petals,then a pearl embellishment in each one along with the swirls on the card.

Been Havin a play...

I have seen this idea in the January 'making cards magazine' and have been wanting to have a go. I picked the most difficult card to work with lol,shows every mark!
Any way very pleased with the result! It is ideal to beat the Royal mail with the postage to, as it folds down flat to fit in an ordinary size envelope so will be a normal stamp!!!

The embellishments are fro 'Hot off the press' in the wonderful box of goodies i have just received for coming third in their section of Card making and paper crafts Card maker of the year comp, having already come first in the Joanna Sheen Section

This is an a5 card. These are using the images from the new Cottage Gardens cds

Especially for you...

This is a large A4 card using the new 'Mansion'Template from Helping Hands Templates and the images from Joanna Sheen new Cd Cottage Garden. I added flower soft to the house which carries the colours acroos from the images perfectly!

Inside i used images from both the new cd of Joanna Sheen and the new CD from Helping Hands Templates, i used the snapshot tool on word and shrunk the images down to size then added to the house.

On Sunday 18th my first sample cards were shown on Create & craft Tv also Ideal World for Joanna Sheens launch of the new Cottage Garden double cd, Nigel,my mate,was also presenting.
These were the one that were shown, as Joaana did 5 demos didnt leave a lot of time for showing samples.

Fantastic new download from Louise!!

OH MY OH MY!!
Louise Brigden has done it again! She has just finished her brand new collection of Downloads only Available at Charmed Cards and Crafts,click the dottie Blinkie.
Her new collection is very chic and stylish,it is called 'Girl About Town' they are different ladies,one of them named Nicola and they are having coffees and shopping and it also includes coloured images and there are a separate download with the fantastic backgrounds aswell as sentiments.Checkout Charmed for the complete list of what you get,great value for money!!! For this card which is a big a4 card, i used Karen black and white images and added colour using Watercolour pencils, i cut around her so it shows the inside of the card. I printed the sentiment very large for the front too.

Then for the inside i used the pre-coloured images of the shop fronts and the black and white image of 'Sarah' again adding colour using watercolour pencils on her,the sign is from the Karen image.

Sunday Challenge...Tags

Over on Dottie World its Louise's turn and she has picked a supposedly easy Challenge,.......Well it would be if my mojo hadnt been on the Christmas Cheer and gone off A.W.O.L!!!
I cut out two circles and cut an aperture in the centre of one, added acetate to make a window which i added snow writer too. The front swivels open to show the circle underneath which i put an image from the 'Christmas bundle' check out the blinkie, i intentionally left the insde bare so the greeting message can be written round the edge.

As i love to keep tags from special people and hang them on the Christmas tree!

New Template.....Mansion House

This is made using the brand new 'Mansion Template' from Helping hands templates,available now, i used the backing papers from Joanna Sheens Messy Rabbits collection and cut the scene out so i could add it to this large a4 card, the fencing is made with a sizzix die. I added stickles glitter glue for the sparkles and snow writer for the snow.xx

2009!!

Well i cnat believe that is is nearly 2009 already!
Little did i know what would be in the future when i lit my candle and made my 'Millenium Wish' all those years ago, only seems like last year! This is a large card, i blew some numbers up on the pc using WordArt on Word,i printed & cut them out,then used these as a template for my silver card to cut out. I ran the numbers through my Big shot using a Swirl Cuttlebug folder,mounted onto the Colossal Christmas Paper and added the 'Animal Antics' images available at Charmed cards,click the Dottie blinkie.

Baby Clock

This clock is made using the brand new template from Helping Hands Templates.
The clock face and doors open to reveal the images,the clock hands could be set to a specific time and you could include a date or name for anniversaries etc, this can me amde with a movable mechanism,although for this i just used an image.


The backing papers and images are from Joanna Sheens Baby love Cd.
This is the clock mounted onto a large A4 card.xx
